Finally!! GREAT Chinese Food in Sanford!

We had the pleasure of dining at King Chinese Buffet for dinner recently.  King Chinese Buffet is at 3218 NC Hwy 87 South in Sanford (The Super Wal-Mart shopping center).  We love Chinese food but we got spoiled by awesome restaurants when we lived in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.  As a side note, our all-time favorite is China Chef in Chapel Hill.  Neo China in Raleigh and 35 Chinese in Chapel Hill and Durham are also favorites.

We have tried the other restaurants in Sanford and have always been disappointed.   We have waited almost 8 years for a really good Chinese restaurant to open up and we were so thrilled with our experience tonight.

Food:

Everything I tasted was awesome.  Our girls both ate lots and they are very picky eaters.  The wonton soup, spring rolls, egg rolls, and sesame chicken were my favorites but there was nothing I did not like (and I am very picky as well!)

Hours and Pricing:

Lunch Buffet is from 11-4 Monday-Saturday; Adults are $5.50, Children 4-10 are $2.99 and Children under 4 are free

Dinner Buffet is from 4-10 Monday-Saturday; Adults are $7.75, Children 4-10 are $3.99, and Children under 4 are free; Sunday dinner is $7.50

You can also carry out from the buffet for $2.99/lb at lunch and $3.99/lb at dinner or order off the menu ala carte (some sample prices: Kung Pao Chicken with egg roll and choice of rice is $6.45, 2 egg rolls are $1.30, a pint of egg drop soup is $1.20.)

Service:

Our drinks were never less than half full and our plates disappeared as soon as the last bite was taken.  The servers were like ghosts floating among the diners – they were there and they did their job well, but without the idle chit chat.

Cleanliness:

Maybe its because they are new, but the place was sparkling clean.  Even the floors and restrooms were clean. I hope the cleanliness of the interior of the restaurant is indicative of the cleanliness of the kitchen!

We give the restaurant two forks up!
